Post-partisans

The point I want to make with this blog is that the old battle lines of Liberal vs. Conservative are outdated and inaccurate, and may never have been accurate, as a way to measure people's beliefs.  It forces us to pick a team, and make our opinions align with a belief system.  Don't think Affirmative Action is a good idea?  You're a Conservative racist doughebag.  Think the government should solve the Health Care Crisis?  You're a Liberal Communist eunuch.  One can be liberal and conservative at the same time; I have an increasing suspicion that I'm both those things, depending on circumstance.  The real divide, if there is one, isn't Left vs. Right:  it's Pragmatism vs. Idealism; it's Reason vs. Hysteria.
